Stroke Rehabilitation
Most stroke survivors suffer impaired motor functions and need long-term rehabilitation. The traditional Chinese medicine believes that in our body there are networks called meridians, through which the energy or “Qi” is constantly flowing to help maintain a healthy balance of the Yin and Yang of the body. After stroke the energy flow in the body is blocked and this blockage hinders the recovery process. The acupuncture treatment aims at unlocking the obstruction of the energy flow in the body and facilitating rehabilitation after stroke. In fact acupuncture treatment is standard practice in China to improve motor functions of stoke patients.
In our clinic, we treat stroke patients with selected scalp acu-points combined with necessary body acu-points, with or without electrical stimulation. This kind of treatment can enhance the benefits of rehabilitation by revitalizing the energy flow in the body and improve prognosis. Most of our stroke patients experienced reduced symptoms and improved motor function after a few sessions.
